James Davis
Assistant Director
James Davis joined the program in fall of 2020 while working to obtain his Master’s in Education, having received his Bachelor’s in Philosophy from Bowling Green State University where he was a competitive Smite support player. He sought out Miami for the rare opportunity to receive a top-notch education while advancing a program as historically relevant as Miami University Varsity Esports.
James works in conjunction with Recreation Services and the Armstrong Student Center to help oversee the Armstrong Esports Lounge & Arena. He can often be heard on Miami Esports Broadcasts, commentating on Hearthstone and VALORANT.
Chad Reynolds
Coach
Chad Reynolds joined Miami’s Varsity Esports project upon its creation, working alongside Dr. Alexander and Dr. Platt to form the roots of today’s nationally-acclaimed program. Alongside coaching strength and conditioning for Talawanda’s Volleyball and Track & Field teams, he maintains the Esports program’s physical training and tracks their athletic activity.
Chad believes Esports is a great vehicle to support young people’s growth as individuals while setting and achieving their goals, and he hopes to continue growing the program for his nephews and children to participate in in their future.
